Radio 1965 AM/FM Aurora Design pioneered technologies

Does anyone know anything about this please?
Aurora Design pioneered technologies like OEM quality radios, Bluetooth and USB for classic vehicles and while the competition scrambles to release out-of-date products, Aurora Design takes it to the next level leaving them in the dust!

I just went through this with my 63 AM/FM. The radio electronics and functions are all basically the same.

The conversion is the way to go as opposed to the look-a-likes that are real crap. There are a lot of options. I used Antique Car Radio, https://www.antiquecarradiorepair.com/about-us/

Good guy and retired Vet. Chet. n2dj56@gmail.com

I'm not sure about the 66, but the speaker for the 63 had a transformer on and it will not work with any conversion or aftermarket radio. You would have to replace the dash speaker which is a real pain to get to because you have to remove the heater ducts. If you have AC that make it even worse. I opted to use kick panel speakers and 2 Bose units in the rear area back area. I bought a space tool cover board carpeted it and mounted the speaker to it. Everything is removeable if I ever wanted to show the car, but the judges would pickup on the replacement speaker as well as the converted radio anyway. So it's a 4-speaker system with fading and balance.

Some members simply replace the original speaker with a dual cone (left and right) speaker that fits in the dash like the original. I personally do not like the sound (no bass at all) but to each their own.

I went with the FMR-3.0 + Blue Tooth and auxiliary jacks.

The FMR 3.0. provides the interface from the existing radio electronics to a the new amplifier which allows you to have up to 4 speakers. It also has built in logic for features that the original radio did not have. Since the original radio did not have knobs for those provisions, they use internal software to allow the tone and volume to configure the fader, balance and even an equalizer. Hands free for you phone through Bluetooth.
