I'd like to remove the electric fuel pump and miles of unsafe rubber hose that was installed by the previous owner on my 67. The engine, upon investigation, is a 78 454 LS7 XCH coded crate motor from GM performance. I'm unsure as to what fuel pump to use. I want to restore the original fuel line set-up pump to carb, and keep the engine as original looking 427/390 as possible even though it's a 454. Will a 1967 427/390 pump be compatible with this block. Appreciate any advice. Gary

Re: 1967 427 fuel pump compatibility
Gary the ac 40482 pump should work as that block and cam should work with it. LS7 block should have pump flange and holes for bolts and the push rod and the cam should have the lobe for the pump but it's wise to check. What intake and carb do you have on it? Get a Paragon Zip or Corvette Central catalog and check what you need with their parts. The factory AIM would also help. Original type steel line, pump to carb would look as original but that had the filter in the holleys inlet.- Top

Re: 1967 427 fuel pump compatibility
Mark; Thanks for the advice, I agree that that pump will work fine. I have the correct lines, pump to carb on order. I was going to use the original cast iron manifold oval port with the 3811 holley, however, this motor has rectangular port heads, so not sure I can use the oval port, so I may use a 3885069 that I have with a holley 750. Not sure yet. I'll post some pictures as I progress. Gary- Top
