Choke Cover, what is it from

I have a choke cover, where it attached to the heat tube is a female attachment. Anyone have an idea what this was used on?

My AFB's and WCFB's have a male attachment at the cover.

    Thanks

Harry, looks like one from a 29 Dodge Dump truck. Possible one from an early pass car.

Don't discount what Ed said. He's old enough to have worked on those 29 Dodge dump trucks when they were new.

I don't think the automatic choke had yet been invented back in '29, but I'm sure many of us remember that knob with a "C" that you pulled out to start a cold engine.

Duke, I remember the "C" unit, we used it to fake out our friends that we had a wild Isky 505C cam. Great sound but the EPA would book us in jail for Isky trademark infringement. Sorry Harry, need someone older than me to I/D the part. I think Duke would fill that position, I heard he is older than dirt. Just having fun Duke!

Harry, the Choke cover is identical to one on a 327 340 HP Carter AFB #3461S dated AL2 Carter Climatic Control in raised letters! Same "Female Threads" for the Choke heat tube. from an early 63 Corvette 340 HP 327. on my shelf with the Alum Manifold.

It is from a Carter #3461S used on 63 300 HP and 340 HP. Likely was used on others as well.

I think he is referring to 'female threads' for choke tube according to pic. Bruce

Think I have a work-around. Looks awkward, but it will work.

Every 3461S I am aware of has male threads on the choke cover hot air tube connection.. If there was a version of the AFB that had female threads it would have a different part number.

Rich, Mopar it is. Not for judging, but it will work.

                            Thank you

Harry just be sure the internal spring is clocked properly and rotates properly when it heats up. Some are reversed.

I once worked on a car that someone had that had the reversed spring setup. Drove us crazy for a while.
