Re: NCRS member opinions requested
There are many reasons why you should rebuild this car. I also have a '63 SWC that I have had since 1991. You may never lose money on this car. It is often referred to as one of the BEST sports cars ever designed; and it will always turn heads. I have noticed in NCRS that as an organization we are moving away from DIY restorations as people no longer enjoy that kind of work. For most NCRS people it is not real work but a labor of love. On the other hand, others pay shops to do this work for them. I have found NCRS judging sheets in four cars at one shop in California with my name on the judging sheets. I have recently retired but no longer plan extensive restoration projects. I nearly lost EVERYTHING in the last recession/depression. I kept the '63 because selling it would not solve the financial issue. Now it will be with me as it defines me. I have heard other people say: "I used to have a 63SWC". Well, I have a SWC and always will! Best of luck. Many '63 parts are unique to '63 as you will find. They call it the hunt.
