I am trying to determine which 1967 Corvette 427/390/400 intake gasket is the most correct for judging
the first two pictures are of end seals and gaskets GM part# 6259379
pictures 3&4 are of end seals and gaskets GM part #3955526
there is a difference in the end seals and gaskets.
the GM parts catalog list #3955526 first, the #6259379 second.
which gasket set would have come on the car from the factory. Don’t care about doing this job twice. Thanks!
Neither gasket set is absolutely correct for a 1967 L-36. The original gasket set was GM #3876197. Enclosed are photos of the original gaskets contained in an NOS 3876197 gasket set [not for sale]. In PRODUCTION gasket sets were not used. However, the components of the gasket sets were used in PRODUCTION. Note the 3860350 part number on one of the side gaskets. I'm certain this would have been the part number of the side gaskets used in PRODUCTION. Individual gaskets were never available in SERVICE---only gasket sets.
The NOS gasket set pictured is VERY old. This gasket set was discontinued from SERVICE in May, 1969 and replaced by the GM #3955526.
