Spot free rinse from a car wash on my windshield!

    Hello,

OK, fortunately this is not on my C2 Corvette's windshield, but I need help. My wife took our daily driver through an auto car wash and of course, it got the spot free, or some kind of wax treatment on the windshield. I have tried everything I can think of to get the stuff off, because it makes night driving terrible! On coming headlights go into starbursts in this stuff! Any suggestions on how to remove it would be very welcome!

On aside note, thanks for all who helped with suggestions for bleeding my brakes out>

To remove those windshield stains, I would probably try hydrogen peroxide, or isopropyl alcohol. Neither will harm your paint. Have you tried either?

Glorie McNay wrote an article about using old Dryer Sheets to remove bug residue. I used new wet dryer sheets to remove Oak tree resin from the bed cover of my pickup and they worked great.

The Delco/Delphi windshield wiper engineers always recommended using Bon Ami cleanser and a wet sponge to clean residue from windshields to prevent wiper blade chatter and streaking. I have used it a number of times and it works well. https://www.bonami.com/products/bon-...wder-cleanser/

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE. Bon Ami is what I use and what my father used lifelong.
