'65 gas lid back plate- dimple or no dimple in center of back plate?

I saw a '65 gas lid the other day and there was no dimple in the center of the back plate. In checking the JG I see that these were used in "early" '65. Does anyone know when the center dimple appeared. Don't know if the car needs a dimple or no dimple style. Thanks.

Was it an original gas lid or a reproduction gas lid? Dimples appeared through 1967 production. Do you have a picture?

Original '65 gas doors have the dimple, at least my late production '65 coupe's original gas door does. I know that my '64 does not, not sure if there was a transition change over between years 1964 and 1965 where some early '65's may have a gas door without the dimple. I can't remember reading anything in the latest '65 judging manual that states any deviations.

Thanks guys. There is a previous thread below that gave me what I needed to know. Essentially, a friend of mine will be having his car judged soon and his gas lid has not dimple on the back side. He doesn't know if the lid is original to his car so he was trying to figure out if he would take a hit for it. Considering his car was born in April and the article indicated that a late January car had a no dimple gas lid, he should be well within his six month allowance since there are no discernible data to indicate otherwise.

I have a large collection of C2 gas lids, including the two original 1965 gas lids shown in the photo below.

I do not know the production dates for the cars these came from. All I can say is that both dimpled and non-dimpled lids appeared in 1965 production.
