The exhaust system on my April 1963 coupe took some big hits at my last regional and I knew that was going to happen, so I was going to replace it over the winter. I was looking for up to date recommendations for the best complete replacement system from a judging perspective and from reading old threads in the archives, it appears Corvette Central and Gardners were the top choices. Allens was also mentioned, but it is now out of business.
I am looking to keep it factory, but there doesn't appear to be a steel system and replacement systems are aluminized. CC does have a steel system (not complete), but there is a big delay in shipping.
Also, regarding judging, and I am not trying to stir up a controversy, but when I was at the last judging retreat in Texas March 2019, we were told that magnets were not to be used during judging. If this is still the current thinking and if the entire exhaust system appears typical production, it shouldn't take any deductions. Again, not trying to stir up a hornets nest, but just wondering how the aluminized systems are judged.
