Jim, I just called the Tech Dept at Raybestos and asked about their rubber products compatibility with DOT 5. The lady was very straight forward and said their brake product are NOT compatible with DOT 5. So many mixed messages with a situation that should be very straight forward.

Its interesting that Terry and I bought the same item from the same supplier, same manufacture, one was maked USA, the other make in China.

        Well that is certainly discouraging.

How about calling back and asking if their seals are made of EPDM, a material known to be DOT5 compatible?

          Re: brake fluid

About a month ago, after reading the thread on the Corvette Forum, I called Raybestos Tech Support and specifically asked about compatibility of their seals with DOT 5 and I was told it was not a problem and did not void their warranty. So, it appears that Raybestos is giving out inconsistent information.

I am sorry people. I just checked and the master cylinder kit is marked Made in USA. The Caliper kits are made in China, just as Ed's are.

I am sorry to have created a part of this commotion.
