      Terry,

NCRS Board went through Sarbanes-Oxley act around 2007 time frame. Sarbanes-Oxley is a result of the accounting scandals at Enron, World Com, Global Crossing, Tyco and Arthur Anderson account.

Sarbames-Oxley affects only American publicly traded companies and non profits are basically exempt.

        Re: NCRS presidency

First off, congratulations Mark in your new role as NCRS President. I wish you all the best in new position!

Secondly, I am deeply shocked and saddened at the news of Shannon’s resignation! Frankly, when she first became President I didn’t quite know what to make of it but felt I would hold off making any opinion until she had an opportunity to prove herself. I was ever so pleasantly surprised. This is a woman who gave up her job to be NCRS President which pays nothing. That takes a lot of dedication! She has been very hands on and working to make NCRS better and more welcoming. She was attempting to do something about our antiquated computer system. Shannon brought her youthful energy to an organization that desperately needed that infusion.

Looking forward I am fearful that we will allow ourselves to once again become complacent and petty in the way we have always done things. That makes me extremely sad.

I sincerely hope that whoever finds themselves as the permanent President of the NCRS will consider membership before themselves in the direction this great organization takes moving forward. Eyes are on you! This organization will succeed or founder on your watch.

          Re: NCRS presidency

Terry, one of my favorite courses in college was an English course that presented "Epic" poems and stories in the history of literature, presented by Dr. Hardman, she was the best prof I ever had. I vividly remember the requirements of an "Epic" thuly:
          Six Elements Of The Epic:
          1) Plot centers around a Hero of Unbelievable Stature. The epic hero completes what everyone only attempts. In ancient epics, the hero often is either partially divine or at least protected by a god or God.
          2) Involves deeds of superhuman strength and valor. Accomplish feats no real human could.
          3) Vast Setting. The action spans not only geographical but also often cosmological space: across land, sea, into the underworld, or thru space or time etc.
          4) Involves supernatural and-or otherworldly forces. Gods, demons, angels, time/space travel, cheating death etc.
          5) Sustained elevation of style. Overwritten. Overly formal, highly stylized (poetry, lyricism (singing), exaggeration)
          6) Poet remains objective and omniscient. The narrator sees and knows all and presents all perspectives.

Yes, there are parts of the video and this whole story as it has evolved over the last year or so that do fit that. I too remain 2 hours away from seeing the entire epic conclusion.

              Jim,
Thank you for once again calling my integrity and character into question without knowing anything about me. Maybe you can review the FACTS instead of "what was told to you" by a biased source. Consider watching the events offered TO and FOR YOU as a member. Also, see my comment below on why I indeed resigned.

We talk of Shannon not getting her way but what about Vinnie holding the NCRS hostage over the intellectual rights of the Driveline he clearly states he won't give the property up so nobody else could take over in his absence. He needs to be replaced immediatly

I know enough about you and your ethical standards to have formed opinions about both. They are opinions which you have done nothing to improve.

You probably have no way to know that I left NCRS because of your actions. So I'm telling you now. I renewed my membership and renewed my hope for the future of NCRS this morning as soon as I learned that you had relinquished your claim on the title of president.

Good luck to you in your future endeavors and I hope you will use this time to check and adjust the calibration of your moral compass.

Given how you gamed NCRS rules to claim to be president, I am not the least bit surprised.

I agree with you Owen I think NCRS is the loser in this instance.

Shannon you will be missed for sure best of luck my friend.

By definition, Concours is an exhibition or contest, especially a parade of vintage or classic motor vehicles in which prizes are awarded for those in the best original condition.
As was argued in the zoom meeting, much more descriptive name should be given to the class of Corvettes that have been modified or reclaimed, pro-toured, pro-mod, etc. Modified Class would be much more self explanatory and fitting of the class of Corvettes...IMHO, of course.
