Re: First time gravity bleeding brakes
Tony, you should be able to lift each wheel and bleed, remove master cylinder cap and lift the wheels only as much as you need to crawl under car. Make sure you have jack puck inserted as not to damage body panels.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: First time gravity bleeding brakes
Hi Anthony,
I don't see why not. As long as the master cylinder is higher than the caliper being bled, it should work fine! I do it that way too, jacking and removing one wheel at a time. For gravity bleed, I do recommend tapping the caliper assy a few times with a rubber mallet to dislodge any (if any) trapped air bubbles. If using the pressure or pedal bleed method, the higher velocity of the fluid helps to disperse any bubbles without the need to tap the caliper.Bill Bertelli

Re: First time gravity bleeding brakes
Depending on the vintage, it may be just as easy to lift the entire car then bleed vs. lifting each corner as you go. This also gives you the opportunity to inspect and lube the chassis.

Re: First time gravity bleeding brakes
I've done both rears at once, probably a hour or so total. I just plan other tasks while they bleed, but close by. You need to top off the master so keep a close eye on it.
