Trim Tag or Vin for 69 vette

My brother is looking at a 1969 corvette that is supposed to be a real L88. Can you tell by the Trim tag or Vin if it is.

No, You can not.

You can not tell by the vin in 69 what engine option the car left the factory with. Not until 1972 did Gm added a letter to the vin to designate the engine. If you are looking at an L88 and trying to determine if it is real send me a private message and I can help you out.

Is it the red coupe up east with the black side exhaust?

Sorry for not responding earlier but busy with the holidays and family. Yes it is a red coupe in with black side exhaust - in New Jersey.

If so, the car has manual brakes, a radio and antenna, and an L46 350 hp small block tach. This car didn't leave the factory as an l88.

Thank you very much my brother was hot to trot to get it but I asked a member of my NCRS chapter Tom Hoyer and he said that same thing about the tach.
