Repair chrome finish on '67 dash knobs

Happy New Year, almost. I have searched previous posts for this particular issue and I have not found anything, but I am new to this, so that might explain things. The "chrome" on the outside of my 1967, plastic dash knobs is looking worn. What is a good way to restore this? The forum has numerous posts on the black center part, but none (that I could locate) about the "chrome" on the outside of the knob. Thanks is advance! Bob

Do a google search for "how is plastic chrome plated" or some variation of that statement. You will get a long list of links that explain the process and get a good appreciation for what is all involved. It does not appear like it is something you would be able to do in your garage or home shop. Not even sure if commercial operations that can plate plastic would take on a customers parts (like yours) to replate a few small pieces.
