    Joe,

Thanks for the info. It was hard to find any info on this "curved" tray other than it was factory installed on L-88. I recently acquired this at an estate sale and have no use for it so if anyone is interested....

Question, Is it possible to remove timing gear cover without lowering the oil pan ? the extra 8" timing cover I have looks like it can be removed using care not to damage anything ? Scott

Scott - Yes, the timing cover can be removed without lowering the oil pan. My 65 L78 Roadster had a 454 in it when I bought it.
Correction, a 454 with a 'Flat Cam'. I pulled the timing cover and then the cam (after hoisting the engine up a couple inches to clear the core support X-brace) and after installing a new cam, and with lots of scraping and cleaning, reinstalled the timing cover and no leaks.
That did include a lot of careful scraping and cleaning to try to minimize
any silicone or gasket debris from dropping down into the pan.

hI Mike, thanks for the info, I have the motor standing on flywheel end, after I lossened the pan bolts it came out easily, I also took the pan off to see if it has all the parts it should and it looked great. Scott
