NOS 14101128 heads and NOS Valve Covers 14087493LH 14087494RH

So I just bought these heads and valve covers. They appear to be new in GM boxes. The head boxes are date 12-16-85 and the valve cover boxes are dated 8-29-86 and 6-10-86. Whoever bought the heads originally took the valves, valve springs, locks and retainers. However, they haven't been installed on an engine, and neither have the valve covers. I don't know much about these heads, and haven't been able find out much about them. They appear to be spaced for 1.94/1.50 and about 58cc chamber as the chambers seem smaller than my 461, 462 and 186 heads. My questions are they worth building and do they make power, or are they just junk aluminum versions of smog heads? Can they be and do they benifit from 2.02/1.60 valves? They do have angle plugs. Also, I've seen that some Corvette valve covers are magnesium. How do you know or tell the difference?

The heads are stock 1987-89 L98 aluminum heads as used in PRODUCTION and once available in SERVICE.

The valve covers are stock 1987-88 L98 valve covers. All 1984-92 Corvette small block valve covers were magnesium, This fact is usually embossed inside the valve cover.

As far as upgradability of these heads, I have no information.
