    Re: epoxy paint

    Bruce,
Don't get a water based epoxy. They are not real get a solvent based. Now that is not easy and is a bit more expensive but it holds up to anything where the water based is just a name for a 2 part paint. I have used both and the water base will not hold up to strong solvents and brake fluid. It also stains very easy.
My best friend worked at SIKA where they made epoxy and I was given epoxy that was out of shelf life and it still worked 20 years later.
It's not easy and a new paint store employee will not know, but I have found some that can order it.

Attached is an article on what I did in 2008. Sherwin Williams will mix any color, it's real epoxy. And it's ADA slippery compliant.

I did an over size 2 car garage about 13 years ago - needed 2 packages (2 gallons) of inexpensive stuff I purchased at Lowe's - Grey. They still carry it - Rust-O-Leum product. It has not cracked, chipped or peeled - extremely durable - oil, gas, acetone - won't touch it. But.... after about 7 years it began to fade in areas that get UV light - it turned yellowish. Easy to apply. I did not do the "flakes" - I preferred the clean look - but I did use a bag of extremely fine silicone sand - like dust almost - it prevents the surface from being slippery when wet - I recommend using it. You can't see it - you can hardly feel it with your hand but it makes the surface much safer. Here is the big issue. Is your concrete clean? I am not talking about oil stains - everyone knows you have to clean them with acid. Do you park your car on the bare unsealed concrete? If yes - you need to be aware the compounds in your rubber tires transfers to the concrete - it is porous - you really have to clean the tire runs in the concrete with muriatic acid - if you don't clean it the paint will peel up - you really have to work at cleaning it with the acid. Good luck.
