Why is nobody reproducting the 93-96 Corvette keyfobs and keyfob plastic shells?

After searching on the internet for hours, it is obvious that C4 key fobs are totally
unobtanium, which in my opinion is totally ridiculous. You can buy all the 97 and up fobs that you want. Somebody
please please please tool up and make these fobs and fob cases!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You can buy key fobs for old Chevy Cavaliers but not
    a Corvette???????????????

Dave, the elephant in the room is that you have to have a working fob to pass an NCRS operations exam.....until somebody makes these
fobs that requirement should be done away with......the plastic on these fobs literally crumbles when you open them up to replace a dead battery,
even if your car only has a 1000 original miles on it. This is a SERIOUS problem.

Sounds, to me, like a nice little project for someone knowledgeable with a 3D printer.

The current GM catalog refers customers to Vintage Parts Incorporated 877-846-8243

Vintage parts doesn't have any key fobs or key fob parts for a 95 Corvette. I'm waiting to hear back from Mirrock.

I agree that its nice to have a working key fob for judging purposes but "Locking, Latching & Keyless Entry" are only worth 20 points total out of a possible 740. What can the lack of a working key fob cost? 7 points? Are you still looking for one?

                  Scott,
True, it may be a minimal impact at Flight Judging.
The bigger problem is that a fob is mandatory to pass a Performance Verification test.
At PV, all functions must work as Designed, Intended and Expected.
Without a PV, there's no possibility of a Hill Mark of Excellence Award,
and then no shot at a Crossed Flags Award.

Thanks to everyone who responded........I got very lucky.......Mirrock Corvette had an NOS convertible key fob still in the original
GM package. The best thing is that it is the second design where the case halves are held together by screws, so no plastic latch tab
to break. I'll take special care of this one and it should last me for a lifetime. That being said......someone REALLY needs to reproduce these fobs.
As Brian Davies pointed out, I'm going to be doing the Performance Verification Test with my car next year and I had to have a working key fob
in order to pass PV. I'm still not ready for PV yet, as both my outside power mirrors will go in and out and not up and down. I troubleshooted this
and both mirrors have bad motor assemblies. This is on a car with only 1000 miles on it! I've bought two NOS mirror motors so hopefully I'll
get them working after I get them changed out. One person on the forum told me that his 95 Convertible mirrors did the same thing when his car
was delivered brand new.......apparently GM had some defective mirror motors that got installed on the 95's from the factory.

Winston, great to hear that you found a fob for your 95. BTW, did the 95s come with one or two fobs when new? I have heard that 96s came with two and 95s one. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Page 45 of the 1993 owners manual says "Your Corvette comes equipped from the factory with one transmitter."

some google searching of plastic injection manufactures should yield some companies that would be willing to make them for you. now price point and demand will be up to you. as an example Custom Molded Plastic Parts | Custom Molded & Injected Plastics (custominjectedplastics.com)

What is the GM part number of the key fob you bought? If it's 12490830 I don't think that's a correct key fob for a 1993-96 Corvette. It may or may not work, but I don't think it's the correct part. The last GM part number I can find for a coupe was GM #10282929 but there may have been a later replacement also now discontinued. The last GM part number for a convertible I can find is GM #88960924 and that's definitely now discontinued.

Do you have a photo of your original fob?
                              In Appreciation of John Hinckley
