I just recently acquired a 1973 454 big block and in the process of getting it judged, but the radio is not working. All the rights turn on in the radio but has no sound at all. I'm having trouble finding someone to repair the radio to keep it in it's original form. Any recommendations would be appreciated! I'm in the York county area of Pennsylvania if someone is local to here would be even better, since I would rather deliver the radio myself than have to send out.

Re: Recommendations for c3 1973 radio repair?
Timothy,
Don't know of any NCRS member that's still doing radio repair.
Doctor Don's does excellent work and restored my 1992 ZR-1 radio and amplifiers. Fast service.

The dial light might be on a separate circuit than the radio (I'm not sure without checking though). So make sure the radio itself is getting power and its fuse is good.Mark Edmondson

Check that the speakers are not the problem. They were the problem in my case.- Top

Re: Recommendations for c3 1973 radio repair?
When you turn the radio on, you should get a "thump" and/or see the cone move. My '72's speakers were completely rusted in the cone magnets and wouldn't budge. I ended up buying a pair of 8-ohm dash speakers from S&M Electro-tech. Robert Pacini went through my radio and recommended S&M.- Top
