1968 vs. 1969 Upper Dash Pad

I'm sure this has been discussed in the past but I must not be using the correct key words in my search. I seem to remember that there is a subtle difference between '68 and '69 upper dash pads but I can't remember what it was. Is my memory correct? If so, what is the difference? I remember it being something to do with the configuration of the defrost bezel.

I think the dash pad for both years are the same. The AIM call's out 3915606 for the dash pad, then changed to 3930499 on 2-5-67, well before production started. Maybe some very early cars got a different dash pad.

The duct for 68 was 3909066, while 69 is 3915699. I'll look tomorrow at both cars and see what the difference is.

I think the difference is in the mounting below, the underside. Visually, 68-69 dash pads look the same, but 68's mounted differently, different bracing. 69 through 72 mounted the same.
