Can someone tell me what A-3112 means for body. I am still waiting on my cheat book but was curious?

A - 3 1 1 2 is the Body Sequence Number for your convertible.

Conventional wisdom says "A" stands for "A.O. Smith" (and it was really "DowSmith" by that time) who made your body in Ionia Michigan. The AIM says "A" really stood for "Outside Purchased Body" meaning not GM

So yours was the 3,112th conv body made at that Plant.
Coupes had there own sequence numbers.

Body Sequence Numbers at St. Louis start with an "S"; don't have a dash; and are all single-spaced.

You need to buy the '66 TIMJG if you don't have one...it will explain this AND A LOT MORE about your car !
