I'll be repairing my tire tub this winter. I'll mix the dye on the right with the resin. The one on the left I use when I'm done to even out the color.

Can the 43 Black Pigment also be mixed with the resin?

I used a few drops of water based black paint - add a drop or two, mix - decide if it is grey enough, if not, add another small drop of paint - continue until you got a good match.

John - any idea on where I can find the pattern for the material in that riveted door you are holding and what the material might be? I got a rebuild kit from Paragon, but it did not have that piece nor the material.

              John,

Did as you advised and enlarged picture to 150% - perfect! I think I will try an inner tube first - if that doesn't work, then thick felt. BTW - was trying to figure out what to apply to the fiberglass box to clean up some of my fixes and to restore a little of the color, as it was that aged, gray color - applied Bumper Black and it is amazing what that did - now clean looking and also helped blend in my fixes. Thanks for your help. Ron

So - is the core support attached to the heater box without any seal between the tow? And, there is a seal which goes between the core support and the innner firewall and again another like seal between the motor box and the engine-side firewall. This is for my 64 non a/c. I saw the sequence of seals somewhere but can't find the thread. Paragon is helpful, but not enough for this guy. Thanks.

Thanks for the info John. I fully disassembled my heater box, and did not find any glue/cement between the inside box and the core support. However, I think I will glue in a thin layer of composite material which is only about 1/16" thick and much like foam. I am glad this project has come to an end - many holes were fixed, and one of the anchoring posts was gone on both sides. Panel bond and an elevator bolt became a perfect fix. Thanks again for al of the discussion - it was very helpful.
