Re: 1992-1995 ZR-1 Air Filter Date Question
Agreeing with Joe I see the same date code of 1B08D and his break down of the date code.
I am taking a very limited position as far as comments are concerned since everyone has their own opinion and I am drawing from the information that I have accumulate:
The AC Delco is script is not the normal type for the C4 and at least the early C5.
The manufacturers' part number of A1097C replaced the A917C in the 1990 model year. These air filters were ACSPARKPLUG,
This air filter was replaced by the ACROCHESTER A1097C in the early model year of 1994.
The ACROCHESTER A1097C was replaced in late 1995 (For the 1996 Model) with ACDELCO A1097C.
I have seen the ACDELCO script on early C5 models. After that I cannot comment.
Is this air filter for a 1991 Corvette, I do not know. However, the typical manufacturer's script did not change from 1985 until at least 1998.

Re: 1992-1995 ZR-1 Air Filter Date Question
I want to follow up on my previous post in that I am not saying that the presented air filter is not a Corvette air filter. What I wanted to show was the utilization of the ACDELCO script and the use of the part number A1097C for the C4 and early C5. Is this an air filter from a 2001, 2011 or even a 2021, I do not know?
Just wanted to help out with some information.PAT, Central New Jersey and Florida Chapters- Top

Re: 1992-1995 ZR-1 Air Filter Date Question
Dave, here is a photo of my born with 92 air filter. Looking closely at the script, it is definitely not in a straight line. My car is a June, 92 build. I hope this helps.

Re: 1992-1995 ZR-1 Air Filter Date Question
Dave, from what I can get from my limited data base the air filter you presented appears to be an original air filter.
My stuff shows that the first air filter that had a date was in August 15, 1993 and it was an ACROCHESTER. It appears from the limited information that I have is that the date coding began with the ACROCHESTER air filter.
If you could, is it possible that I could get the build date of your 1992 so that I could enter it into my database.

Re: 1992-1995 ZR-1 Air Filter Date Question
Pat- I have a AC Rochester A1097C air filter brand new in original box for my 9/93 production 94 LT-1 convertible-
but it is not dated / nor production code- just part number . Appears to be a service replacement , but since the current JG makes no mention of a proper production code- should this air filter receive full credit on judging ?
Thanks Bob Brewer

Re: 1992-1995 ZR-1 Air Filter Date Question
Pat------
It is possible that these filters were simultaneously manufactured at more than one GM plant. If so, the various codings could have varied according to the practices of each plant and, therefore, there might not be a definitive answer for each, particular car.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 1992-1995 ZR-1 Air Filter Date Question
Bob, no problem. It is an AC Delco and not an AC Rochester and would be a replacement for a 1994 (September 93 Build). Thanks for your interest and appreciate you taking the time to send it along.PAT, Central New Jersey and Florida Chapters- Top
