Hi, working on putting a new adjuster spring (the one on the bottom above the starwheel adjuster) on the passenger side hub/rotor. Has anyone ever run into an issue with the adjuster spring interfering with the starwheel adjuster? My starwheel is pressed up against the spring so tight that its difficult to even turn the starwheel. What did I do wrong? Starwheel is facing the right hand side of the hub as the shop manual states. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW I can't get the shoes to seat in their normal space either. Something is binding and wondering if it is the spring and starwheel interfering with each other. Any suggestions?

If you used a new set of SS hardware and didn't prefit the parts you will have headaches. I have to fit every set I use and have for at least the past 20 years. Many times, the starwheel ends have burrs or the shoes are thicker. It doesn't matter where you bought them from either since there's only a couple of suppliers and some are better than others, but I still have to fit them all.
The lower spring should drag on the starwheel to "lock" it in place.- Top
