Mysterious Stamping on 3770529 Fan Blade

While refreshing a 3770529 fan blade assembly for my 66 L79, I was surprised to find a small (~2mm high), but distinct, stamping of the numeral "4" on one of the blades (vanes) of the fan blade assembly.

Does anyone have an idea of its' significance?

A detailed, in-focus photograph will help knowledgeable folks on this TDB help you...

Also, were there any other "similar" stampings on any of the other blades ?
    thx,

There is not much to see...one small numeral "4" on one blade only.

        Henry,

You might want to email Joe Tripoli, as he is very knowledgeable about fan markings (he did an article in the Restorer a few issues back regarding fan assembly details).

Here, I hope, is a picture of the mysterious numeral.

            Henry,
It's been awhile since I checked my messages.
My original 1966 Corvette 3770529 fan (17 1/8" dia., 5-blade, 3" bolt circle, 2 3/8" hub hole, pitch measures 1 5/8") just had the letter "H" (Hayes-Albion, the manufacturer) stamped on the front and the letter "W" stamped on one arm on the back side. Attached to the fan was a Schwitzer clutch dated "SC 1-26-66". The "4" on your fan might represent the month of April, just a wild guess.

Years ago I had a 7-blade 1964-1965 Corvette w/AC fan, GM # 3853943, stamped "H" and "9" (or maybe it was a "6") on the front, the number "25" on one blade, and the letter "W" on one of the arms on the back side. I sold the fan to Pete L. back in Nov. 1993.
            Dave
