    Enzo,

As you probably know, C2s are notorious for leaking windshields - and mine was no exception to that rule...and as far as I'm concerned, the stainless reveal moldings will never "seal" w/o additional material between the trim and the body.

When I replaced my chipped, non-original windshield with a TFP date-logoed replacement 20+ years ago, I struggled to get the stainless trim back in place w/o denting or bending it. I succeeded at that, but there was still a gap between reveal moldings and body fiberglass...

I used 3M "Strip Caulk" (kind of charcoal gray in color) and warmed it up as I wiggled it between my hands into a long skinny string-like shape...

I laid that "bead" between the trim and body and gently worked it down in the gap - moving along slowly to keep the heat in the caulk so it would "flow" into the voids.

When I was done, I'm sorry, but I can't remember what I used after I used my finger nails to trim the excess (rubbing alcohol? mineral spirits?) but I then gently removed all the remaining excess w/ a rag "wet" with whatever it was I used...

Windshield doesn't leak - can't say the same for the Driver's side door weather-stripping...only a problem when washing as I don't drive him (at least not on purpose) in the rain
    thx,
    Mark

When I purchased my 65 convertible back in 1987, it had been substantially dismantled, including the windshield stainless. The car had been brought up to British Columbia from California sometime in the mid-1980's, and had been repainted several times, but as far as I could see, without the removal of the trim (overspray on edges/back of trim and masking marks). So assuming the original trim with the car had been untouched, it would seem that it had grey, strip caulk in multiple strings on teh inside of the larger (corner/header) mouldings and single strips on the thinner, base of the windshield lower moulding pieces...In fact, the 1965 AIM at page E98 shows the application of 'sealing compound' in three areas of the outside mouldings on a convertible: A. 'fill' upper corner 2 oz each side; B. (which is the verticals on each side) 11 oz, and on a coupe C. (which seems to be the upper horizontal moulding) 7 oz.

      Hope this helps.

To remove the 3M Stip Caulk, use 3M Weatherstip Adhersive Remover for many years. It has never damaged the paint on my C2's. It is also excellent to wipe down tires after they have been wash with a wheel/tire cleaner. It will remove ant residual brake dust/tire dressing and leave them a nice clean black color. It has gotten kind of expensive in the last few years but worth it in my opinion.
