    1963 Wiper Motor

My wiper motor doesn't run nor click when I put the switch on either Hi or Low speed. However, when I push the washer button in, there is clicking inside the motor. So it appears that the switch is working.....maybe.

Any thoughts or ideas for me to address? I would try to avoid taking the motor out as you all know, it's a PITA.

    Thanks

    Gerald,

If you need advice about wiper motors, I recommend calling Steve Hackel. He knows as much as anyone about them.

Jerry, Check the ground to the wiper motor. The washer doesn't used the chassis ground. It is only connected to the switch. Obviously you have a good ground to the switch and power to the brown wires connected to the motor. If the black wire has no ground your motor won't work.

That ground originates at the Starter. Very often people connect it to the positive side of the Starter because it has a large diameter connector. It should be grounded to one of the 2 starter bolts. Check there if the black wire is connected at your wiper motor.
