Michael Hanson was a longtime member of the NCRS back in the 70's to the early 80's. Michael was a charter member of Bloomington Gold and judged the 63-64 class for many years. As he had worked at St. Louis in the 60's he possessed extensive knowledge of the way they were built. He has helped many of the NCRS members as they started and perfected their Corvette trades. He will be greatly missed. Thanks Cranky!

Michael Hanson RIP
Long time NCRS member, Michael Hanson member no. 4067 passed away. He was 75 years old and lived in Port Richey FLA. Formerly of Downer's Grove IL. His first Corvette was a 1964 he bought with money earned working in his grandfather's gas station. Later he worked as a transmission tech at a local Chevrolet dealer. He then became very involved with low mileage and high end Corvette restorations, working at Richard Buxbaum's Classic Motors. Later he opened his own restoration shop on Main Street in Downer's Grove, calling it Corvette Research.
He was a 1963/64 Corvette judge at Bloomington Gold from its inception. He along with Dave Burroughs was invited by GM to witness and record the last Corvettes built at the St. Louis factory before it closed. He took photographs of entire assembly process of the last Corvette built before the move to Bowling Green. His photographic collection and knowledge of 1963 Corvettes was second to none. Rest in Peace Mr. Hanson.- Top

Re: Michael Hanson Passing
Very sad to hear this, he was a great source of information and data for Corvettes, and a great guy to talk to whenever you needed advice or help or perspective on NCRS. I will miss chatting with him frequently, RIP great man.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
