Like to share a few things I found with my original 66 Base Engine Coupe. Getting it ready for judging next year. Working
on the interior(Rear Compartments). Car is pretty much original with varified born with engine/protecto plate/all original
LOF dated glass are some examples. Car is a very very early car in production>born 9/20/65. I presume some 65 parts are
on my car from the factory. Here goes>
All my Labels/Instruction on the backside of the board are on the "Passenger Side". The judging manual indicates the placement
of these labels are "somewhat consistent" so other way is OK as I read it. The JP Stevens tag#3878988 is there but date is
covered up by another Label. Will leave this alone and will not touch.
My jack(looks new;hardly ever used) has the "A" stamped on it from the Ausco Co. The one thing different is that the "U"
bracket on mine is not turned inward; it is outward. (Perhaps a leftover from the 65 model?)
The Jack retainer Spring has ONE single hook.
The wheel wrench does not have a 1/4" stamped hole and no "O" stamped on its side. (Again a leftover from the 65?)
On my original lead hammer(P48)(Well used)it does have the two 3/8" holes but shows the handle to be "welded" at the
junction. Note>Judging Manual indicated they have seen them this way but can not be affirmed at this time.
