    C2 AC Hose Markings -

Attempting to to find specifics on AC hose markings for my '66 car. Does anyone know of a resource or have pictures of original AC hose markings for the three different diameter AC hoses?

I have not been able to find new hoses with the correct (or any for that matter) markings so it looks like I'll have to duplicate them.

    thx Joe

    Joe:

There were three companies making the hoses back then: Goodyear (GY), Erie Hose and Rubber (EHR), and Republic Rubber Division (RRD). My 67 small block car had one hose with each logo. The car was recently sold, so I can't get any pics. But they (pics) should be around for you to see if you search.

At one time, DR REBUILD sold the logo hoses and had stamps built. You might try and see if he is willing to sell or rent the stamps.

PaceCar Jeff in Florida is another person I would call and talk to...........he may have old hoses and some stamps.

I believe your hoses are from LICS. You probably need to state that they are not originals. If I am wrong about this, I apologize........but I think I remember you talking about sourcing them from LICS.

          Larry,
I can't speak to the originality as I'm not the original owner. However, these were the hoses on the car when I took ownership...I have never changed them. Must have been someone else.
Are you have withdrawals yet re: your '67?

Guess I am getting everything wrong today. So I will refrain from further posting until tomorrow. .

Not having the 67 around is bittersweet: I do miss it but I can no longer care for it the way it requires. Better to let a younger guy have his turn behind the wheel.

Off my early 67.....I can't guarantee they weren't replaced when I got the car, but they sure look old enough to be original. I can assume the 66-6 could be a date code for a car built in September of 66. Hope this helps....

                    Hello Joe,

I've been researching this very same subject. I've had my original hoses in storage for over 30 years and I'll share what I have photographed with you all now.

The 1/2" inch hose from the condenser to the muffler is illegible. Not sure of it's originality. The 13/32" inch dryer to evaporator hose has it's original "EHR" stampings. I'm working on those photos now. I'll post what I come up with when finished. Here's my December 1st, '65 built VIN #7216's compressor to STV 5/8" inch hose still attached to it's muffler. The car is an L36 version and I'm enclosing a final shot at the end of the identical dated hose from another L36 built just 33 cars later that same day. Maximum of 4 shots per post so I'll send the last ones next.

Looks like I'll be duplicating my stamps as well. Enjoy, Mike

                          Okay Joe,

Here's my 13/32" Evaporator to Dryer hose stamp markings. Wish I'd taken these shots long ago. The years have certainly taken their toll. But I was able to produce a mostly complete set of markings in the following photos. I'm glad that I taped this personal note to myself way back around 1990. I know me, if I wrote it this way then the hose stamps were also that way. I couldn't find any inch symbols (") after the only two 13/32 markings that I found. But I'm sure they existed on this hose back then. Enjoy, Mike
