    pretty wild Idea

Hey Guys, want to run something by the experts. am having trouble finding the oil leak on my 65. looks like it is coming from the rear main seal. have replaced it twice plus the oil pan gaskets. So i am talking to an "expert" and he tells me that because I am running 456 gears that the higher RPM is causing pressure in the oil pan forcing out the oil. Sounds a little wild to me? Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?

Possible higher rpms might cause this, but unlikely, unless you are keeping the rpms near the redline all the time?? 5-7000rpms. With 456 gears around town you shift alot more, start out in 2nd gear even, I switched out my 456's for 411's, still high but at least I can go 70 mph on the highway.

Did you replace the rear seal yourself, it's very easy to have a repetitive leak there if the proper seal is not installed per the seal makers instructions.
RPM's have nothing to do with oil leaks.

Clean up the outside of the engine really good (Dawn dish soap, warm water and a scrub brush work great), then add UV dye to the crankcase and look for leaks using a black light.

It's surprising how many RMS leaks are really from the valve covers or oil sending unit.

Had same/similar oil leak situation and this was the cause. At higher rpms, pressure would build inside engine and blow oil out past the rear intake manifold gasket.
