C2, 1966 427, no AC// fresh air cable routing question

Hello All. Just waiting on my steering column to come back and finishing up little details on my interior restoration. Went to install the left side fresh air vent and page UPC 1 ASM, E7 shows the left fresh air cable routing under the hood release latch cable. However, the 1966 6th edition Corvette Technical Information Manual and Judging Guide, page 36-Fresh Air Pulls, about the middle of the paragraph says "The left side pull cable routes over the hood release cable....."

Can anyone tell me the correct way to reinstall it? Thanks. Mark

Goes on top of the hood release cable been judged twice this year with no deduct
