C2 Convertible Top Frame Pads

Is there a method to replace or repair these long 6" wide pads or a portion of them without removing the whole top? They run from the front to the rear of the top above the side windows on both sides of the car. Although the top is still in excellent shape, the pads seem to be deteriorating especially at the hinge in the frame above the rear of the side windows. Pads are available from Zip Products.

I was afraid of that. Do you think the whole top needs to be removed from the frame or just removed back to the last bow on the frame where the pads end? Probably needs to be professionally done I'm guessing.

Tom, I think you should be ok to remove top to the last bow. There are 2 flaps one on each side that are glued down under the side window w/strips. You should be able to use all the same staple and screw holes once your ready to reinstall.
