advice on painting the repo 69 seat belt carpet grommets

Guys,

I'm installing the interior on my 69 resto and I could only find one of my seat belt carpet grommets so I had to buy a new one. I have saddle interior. I have tried several times to paint these things and nothing works. The paint doesn't stick. I've used Bull Dog adhesion promoter, interior primer, made sure they were scuffed up and then thoroughly clean and the paint just doesn't stick at all. I've been looking on ebay for a used brown one but no luck. Is there some magical way to get paint to stick to these things or does anyone know of a repo one that is brown? Thanks,

Bob were you able to get the paint to stick to the repo rubber grommets?

Check with Grant Wong, a member on here. I got an original from him a few months back. Great guy.
