Re: Looking to see if the experts can say if this block stamp is legit?
The block was not stamped by Tonawanda with that 4 and 2 and the I is a little unusual also. The 6, 9 and 2 in the vin are not quite right either. Legit might be too strong a word unless the seller is insisting these are born-with stamps and demanding a premium for them. Check the casting dates and other big block indicators. It could be an original block that was decked and restamped. If you have to have a big block with original stamps, this is not it.

Welcome to NCRS Tech Discussion Board!
For a fair assessment, you'll need MUCH sharper/in-focus images. Can't tell much about those broach marks as they are not clear. Same with VIN tag. Trim tag needs to be in-focus as well and include ALL the tag, not just part.
Would also help if forward edge of engine stamp pad was visible. Not hidden by fuel line.

Attached is an early reproduction trim tag. All manner of stuff wrong with this one!
Point is, this level of focus/clarity is what you need for an assessment. You need to capture the entire Trim Tag, not just a part.
