dash lighting for pv for 65

Hey guys,
Need a little help here: i can't see the light coming from the ignition key. I know the light works. is this common? I checked it with the car covered. still didn't see it. Should I use a different bulb. I am afraid I will fail my pv. all other dash lights work correctly and dim as the should. Any suggestions? Thank you

I would get the correct bulb if you don't have it already, be sure it works before you install the bulb connection into the ignition switch light well. The ignition light is hard to see, usually nothing more than a little light showing around the key switch.

At least that's how my 1965's looks.

Bruce , they do check the light in the ignition it a very small dot light hard to see, you have to cover it with a non see through blanket or go into a garage closes all lights make sure it pitch dark and then take a look have someone open and close lights switch while your looking

Danny, thanks for your input. This is very funny. Light bulb works but when in place even with all the lights off and and a cover on the car I see nothing!! could something be blocking the light? I have the correct bulb in there. I don't see how i can pass PV with this problem

Jim, is there any chance you could post a picture of what yours looks like. Would really help me. My mechanic says lights works but i see nothing!!!

James, thanks for the picture. I clearly have a problem!! I heard that the repro's are missing a slot that lets the light thru. Found an original one on ebay. will pull it and see.

Is it the repro ignition switch housing that you think is the problem or the key and tumbler part missing the slot

Robert, it appears to be the ignition housing. i will check next week. just tested positive for covid not feeling up to it now.

James, very strange. the bulb works and dims with the reostat. the only way you see the light is with the tumbler removed. so the ignition switch is correct. is a 660. something is not allowing the light thru. have tried with car cover on in a totally dark place. see nothing. I wonder if it is the size of tumbler? the outside diameter of the tumbler is 1.980 i wonder if that is to big? do you know?

Bob, no key and tumbler have the slot.
