1966 lighting for radio and heater/defrost contro

Waiting on my cluster to come back so trying to tidy up things and put things as they were/are supposed to be. The "bullet" that illuminates the radio and heater/defrost controls is the question. My understanding is that it is supposed to have a green lens on it that illuminates the heater and radio controls. Mine is missing that green lens. I searched the NCRS judging manual and could not find where it is supposed to be green.

I search some big vendors but could not find one. So, my question is this true and if so where can I find one?

    Thanks everyone.

Yes it's true for 64 to 67. Zip has them, item D-784.

Those bullets are also directional. That is to say left and right. If you flip them you will lose illumination.

Thanks Dennis. But if I remember correctly, when it clips on the clock tab it has to go the proper direction/orientation. Or is possible to install it incorrectly? Thanks. Mark

Mine is a 66 AC car. Those lights illuminate my AC controls above and heater controls below. The light is grounded through those clips to the clock case. If you get the wrong bullet in the wrong clip the light will not broadcast on the backs of your controls. Look closely at the slots that allow the light to escape and note their position. Be sure they point to the backs of your controls.

Thanks Dennis. Good to know. I have a non AC car so I just got one to worry about. I'll check it out though. Thanks Mark
