C2 Interior windshield molding 1966 roadster hard to fit

Hello All. Just reinstalled my dash and now doing the last bid of trying to put what I thought was a simple task of attaching the two side pieces of interior molding around the windshield. Seems like I really have to torque the top of the stainless molding at the top and screw in the large screws in the rag top striker assembly to get it to fit. Don't remember it being like this when I removed the pieces. Both side the same way. The bottom part of the molding fits nicely on the lower window molding strip and the sides slip over the birdcage ok, but then I have to really push on the top of the molding to get where I can screw in the striker plate screws.

Is this normal?

Anyone have good pictures of the molding in place especially the top portion? Thanks Mark

Mark, It is as you describe! You need to "pry" the top corners under the outer molding in order for the sides to fit properly.

Thanks Joe. I was afraid I was going to warp or bend the trim. I did have to kind of pry or force the top of the side molding under the windshield molding at the top. I should have taken better pictures before I removed the trim. Thanks for your help. Mark
