    69 Body Drop

Getting ready to drop body back onto assembled chassis. Does it make sense to have the fan clutch and fan on the engine first? It seems it will be less hassle to do it on the open chassis then to install it after the body is back down. I plan on installing shroud and radiator afterwards.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Regards,

    Mark,
To give you a direct answer to your question...you can definitely drop the body back onto the completed chassis with the fan and fan clutch in place. With that said, when you go to install the radiator and shroud (usually together as one piece), you will most likely have to remove the fan and fan clutch to accomplish this. So, I would leave them off when doing the body drop. JMHO.

Appreciate the feedback. I was thinking of putting the shroud over the fan, then dropping the radiator in the connecting the shroud to the radiator. Do you see an issue with that approach?

      Thanks

I'm sure it can be done that way but I just find it easier installing the radiator and shroud as one piece. It's been a minute since I replaced a radiator in a C3, so let's here what some of the C3 guys recommend.

I've done my radiator/shroud installs with hood and fan removed. I've tried other combos but found my shroud pre-attached to the radiator was the best option for me. Also, as I recall, loosely pre-positioning the lower radiator hose to the water pump was a time and patience saver for me as well.
