Re: 72 LT1 renovation question
How'd you know I was wrong. At least it wasn't a Friday build of a long holiday weekend.
So, the question begs, how many per day?

Re: 72 LT1 renovation question
Question 2) The real brief answer is "It depends."
Typical production was in the range of 125 to 150 a day for a single shift. Some days they ran two shifts. That said, at the beginning of a major model change (1968 for example, and 1970) production ramp-up was much slower. I think they also fudged the numbers in the last week of a model year to clear orders and parts lingering around. That is to say they worked extra shifts and into the model change over time a day that wasn't recorded on the trim tags to clear the above referenced items. An example of that is in the 1968 model year Chevrolet lists the last month of production as July 1968. We have seen cars built nine days into August of 1968 (including Saturday August 3rd). And we won't talk about the 1969 model year.Terry- Top
