Re: 1966 l-36 needs valve job
I think I am with Duke on this. Unless it is blowing a lot of smoke and is not annoying to you I would leave it alone for now.- Top

Re: 1966 l-36 needs valve job
I think I like that option best. The engine runs great after a short warmup and checking the oil level and adding more when necessary is probably an acceptable solution. This has all been great advice and I appreciate everyones expertise. At least I know what I'm up against in the future should I decide to go for a rebuild. Thanks.- Top

Jerry,
I respect your decision. You might still consider checking the PCV system and valve seals. There's a significant chance one of these is an issue and would only cost two valve cover gaskets to check.Mark Edmondson

Re: 1966 l-36 needs valve job
I am not opposed to checking the PCV system since it seems to be a relatively straight forward process. If that happens to be the culprit, any idea what the fix will entail? Where is the best source for parts and estimates of cost to correct the issue?- Top
