    66 wiper arms and blades

    Hello members,

I need some help with finding wiper arms and blades for my early 66. From what I have learned, early 66 had the polished arms and blades. Can someone point me in the direction for finding these. I am just looking for driver quality but correct configuration. I have tried to reach out to a couple of adds within the driveline but I get either no response or take my credit card and dont respond to my calls.
Any information would be very helpful.
    Thanks, Pete

Have you tried David Sokolowski? Advertises in the Driveline.

Pete: The way I understand this topic is that the very very early 66 wiper arms can come both ways>Brushed or Bright
Chrome Finish. My car(Picture Below) was made 9/20/65 and has the Brushed Arms/Blades. It took me about 1/2 year
to find them but did find them in the "Driveline". Not Cheap but that is life. Larry

Thanks Larry for the info and nice picture. I did get one arm with my car when bought (25 years ago) which is the same as your pass side but with a flat polished balde. I was confused as to what was on this car. After reading as much as I could find I just tossed a coin. I guess I could either way and be correct.
          I'll keep looking.

I have an Oct 8th built car and it has bright finished arms , blades, and the correct dotted rubber inserts and passed fine but you must have all three to pass

                Bob,

Yoiu may have had judges who know more than what is written in the JG. It seems logical to conclude that at some point in the Oct build date time frame the bright finish holders must have disappeared (if we can assume the JG is correct). Otherwise the language in the JG would be different. No?

My point being, you don’t want to push your luck with the judges by having a car that has the bright, shiny holders, etc., too far past the 10/1/65 date in the JG, or else you will have to have an explanation for some judges, that they may not agree with.

I believe with the way stuff was done back in the day it is possible they used what ever was around to keep the line running so i think mid oct is doable in my opinion

Early 1966 cars had what 1965 cars had which were brushed aluminum with "TRICO" on each end of the blade holder. Then later in 1966 they went to the peaked brushed aluminum blade holder with "TRICO" on each end. The only years I know that had shiny blade holders were 1963-1964.

                          Gary,

That is my mistake saying aluminum. They are stainless steel that have a brushed finish. Thank you for correcting my wording.

Hi- My 66 (ser#3795, Oct 22-65) has the brushed Trico arms, but Anco blades and holders. Did I correctly interpret the 6th ed. TIMJG to indicate that could be TFP?

Yes, you are correct, All arms are Trico, but the holders and blades could be Trico or Anco, provided the holders and blades are from the same manufacturer.
