    69 coupe footman attaching hardware.

What is the correct hardware to mount the footman to the floor? I'm replacing the carpet removed four countersunk oval headed screws. Looking through the a.i.m., it shows screws and spacers. I don't remember any spacers when I replaced the original carpet over 40 years ago. Anyways, I bought a 68-70 bolt/spacer kit and it came with 10-32 screws, which do not thread into the holes in the floor. Are just the screws correct and not the machine screws and spacers? Thanks.
