Missing part on '56 wiper motor

I have a '56 wiper motor that's missing the "cable holder" bracket (see photo). I think it was held in place with the 3 screws on top of the housing casting. Unfortunately, I don't know what it should look like, or if the same bracket can be found on any '56 passenger car motors. My '56 Corvette does have the optional windshield washer pump mechanism if that makes a difference.

Can anyone show me a photo of the bracket I need? It isn't pictured in the new '56 - '57 Judging Guide. I could probably make one that would work if necessary.

Thanks Mike. I did find some photos on-line from 2014. Looks like I need a bracket that will hold two cables. Perhaps the same bracket design was used on some '55 Chevy vehicles too?

          Thanks Gary.

I think the part I need is known as a wiper motor dual-cable bracket or slide assembly. I'm guessing this design was only used on '55 and '56 Corvettes with the factory windshield washer option. Making one is going to be tougher than I thought. However, that still might be easier than finding an original separate from a wiper motor housing. Crap.

            Jerry,

Give https://www.rt66restorationsupplies.com/ a call and ask for Pete. Pete may know where to find that piece.

I appreciate all of the suggestions

I'll contact the wiper experts mentioned and try to buy the right part before giving up and fabricating something.

Re: Missing part on '56 wiper motor

Okay... what I expected to be an assembly isn't just one piece. Here's what I've learned from the wiper experts I've contacted.

This "assembly" contains three little castings and two screws with washers. The biggest casting is the cable "bracket" that's fastened to the wiper motor with three vertical screws. The smallest casting is an L-shaped holder that surrounds the third casting, a rectangular "slider" that's actually fastened on the end of the washer pump cable.

Tonight I'll go though my basket case boxes again to confirm what I'm missing. I'm not even sure I have a pump and cable. Completing a '56 windshield washer system may be like fixing a power top mechanism. As Gary Summerville likes to say: "The juice isn't worth the squeeze".
