Distributor Shield - '66 L72
My '66 L72 was built without radio (blank center console). When I bought the car both mounting brackets were there but no distributor shield. My understanding main purpose of the shield was to reduce engine interference to radio. Is it possible a distributor shield was never installed at the factory?

Paul i believe the brackets also supported the spark plug wires. There should be a slot for a 4 hole grommet in the bracket. -

Not sure if you can tell from photo, but there is a slot on top that held plug wires but no cover. Wondering if cover wasn't installed when no radio(?) thanks

With no radio you would have no ignition shieding no grounding of your plug wires or any of the other 6 0r 7 ground strap wires throughout the car. Engine,exhaust antenna ect.Comment
