    cleaning knock off wheels

I just put on new after market knock offs on my 66. They look great on the car because they are new. What is the best way to keep them looking this way.
    Thanks

    Mel,

DO NOT use Wesley's brand cleaner on your tires or wheels. I have always had good luck with Simple Green mixed 50/50 or the Meguires G 14324 Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner. Use a good quality wheel brush that does not have any metal that holds the brush bristles. You'll want one that is slim and will fit between the fins. For polish, I use Semachrome or Wenol metal polish for the outer rim.

          Mel,

          Enjoy your new K O's.

Be sure to install and tighten them correctly. After I tighten mine, I use a white paint marker and draw a line across the center cone and the knock-off spinner so that I can monitor the spinner for any movement. I usually check them after 50 miles and again at 100 miles to be sure they are staying tight. Then usually every tank of gas.

That was going to be my next item. Checking the lugs frequently!

              Mel,
Here's another though - have them cleared! Yes you will loose some points.
In the past I've lost in originality -2, -12, -8, 0 They are worth 30 points so you could loose up to 6 for finish.
Just depends upon how correct your car is, I've always been Top Flight.

Cleaning can be very time consuming on these.
