    Porcupine 396/425 hp.

    Did the 425 hp. 396 optioned in the 65' Vette come with Porcupine heads as displayed in the 1963 Mystery Engine?

      All Chevrolet Mark IV big block engines had what has been described as "porcupine" heads. This term refers to the angularity and placement of the valves. The 1963 "Mystery Motor" also used heads that were described as "porcupine" although they were not the same heads used on Mark IV.
