        Hi Vinnie,

Maybe an obvious question, but is the car in this photo the same one shown in the book the woman is holding?
What's the story behind this car?
and who are all those smiling folks in the shot?

Great shots - almost like a "Virtual Regional"
        thx,
        Mark

Mark...great story to go with the photo...Thursday night a few members were having dinner at a local Italian restaurant, one of which was Greg Picconi, the 53-55 National Team Leader...they were talking about Corvettes when this woman came over...she had overheard them and related she had a great story about a Corvette...they asked what year and she said 1953...and Greg's eyes lit up...she related that her grandfather drove the first ever 1953 Corvette off the production line...he was the one in the car with the two execs with ties on standing alongside...he was upset that he only had a t-shirt and they wouldn't let him get properly dressed...she was invited to come over to the meet and did so on Saturday with original photo that is in Noland's book along with other memorabilia from her grandfather...complete story and more will appear in an upcoming Restorer...small world...that's her with her husband (they live in New Orleans but are replants from Michigan...) other is the owner of the car and Lynn Libbey...like I said more to come...with lots of details...

                Vinnie,
What a COINCIDENCE, but also what a cool, cool story!
No wonder everybody has smiles on their faces!
Thanks for capturing all of that for posterity...

                      Vinnie,
What a great story in the making on the '53 at the meet, the dinner that took place, and the man who drove the first car for the first time!

It is so nice to read your answer to Mark's question, and we can assume that this lady and her husband were invited to join the event the next day? This is what our hobby and the NCRS is all about!

Yes, she was invited to come to the event and see the cars and share the entire story...much more to come in an upcoming article.

I gotta say my favorite part was that traditional Cajun shrimp boil, with all the fixings. I lived in the Gulf Coast area long enough to know how special those are, and how delicious and fun. I have not had one in a long while, and that really brought back great memories and made new ones, thank you!
