63 rear spring liner length

I am restoring the rear spring for my 63 and purchased the spring liners from Quanta. The liners between the 2nd, 3rd, & 3rd, 4th springs are 2" shorter than the spring. The others are the same length as the springs. Can anyone tell me if the others are supposed to be cut 2" shorter than the spring to match the first two liners?

Todd, I save the original lines from my 63 spring, I'll measure them for you. Please remember there is no liner between the top two leaves.

I need to double check where there is no liner.

Longest to shortest ----> 44.00, 39.00, 33.25, 29.00, 24.50, 20.00, 16.00, 11.00

I can't get under the car. Here is my spring after I restored it. No liner between the top two.

Thanks for the info Harry. You have 8 measurements there, I believe there is only 7 liners, correct? If so, which one of those is not correct?

After you mentioning you had your old ones, I dug around and found mine as well. This may answer my question, but it appears the two short ones are not long enough, and the others are all ok. Would you agree? If so, it looks like I need to purchase more of these liners and cut them down for the short ones?

Hi Todd,
I'm not a '63 guy, but you are only showing 7 leaves in your image.
If I counted right, Harry's image has 9 leaves.

Was there a 7-leaf spring in '63? (I don't know), but that could be a point of confusion.

I'm sure a '63 guy will weigh in and set the story straight

In 63 you only had a 7 leaf spring on a Z06 as I recall. Let's start with what suspension we are dealing with?

Forget the 11 inch one. That is one from Quanta sent in error.

I was thinking back to when I restored my 63 spring, almost 20 years ago. I had a difficult time trying to convince Quanta that the liners in a 63 spring were different than 64 - 67. They finally sent me a piece of uncut liner that I cut and trimmed to the length I needed.

Todd,

If you find that you in fact do need extra liner material, I have a roll of liner material I bought from I think LIC or Quanta a few years back that you may have.

Sorry for the slow response, I've been out of town since Thursday evening. I will contact Quanta and see if they are willing to send me an uncut length that I can make work. If not, I would be happy to pay shipping for yours James. Thank you so much for offering it, that is very kind of you.
