Re: 1967 F41 shocks quetion
Yes John Hinckley years ago stated that F41 was never installed on cars other than those RPO's mentioned.
However, I was told once that it was on a L68 400HP car, but I never saw it's tank sheet or invoice proving it.
If the car in question has F41 and not typical, there is no way to determine if it was factory or not(if no documentation), as all of the parts could be obtained over the counter and added. However.....
If the rear trailing arms are original, they may hold a clue if it was a factory F41 installed RPO.

If F41 was "added" to a '67 400hp or lower hp car - another way to detect that addition (vs FOEM installation) would be if the person adding the F41 did not know (or forgot) to swap out the 9-leaf rear spring for a 7-leafer required for F41, right?thx,

Mark, Yes, pretty obvious spring hiccup if they did. But they'd also likely forget about the rear lower shock mounts as well. Those are unique to F41 too.
edit... Duke beat me to it while I was looking for photos.....

This shows the differences to stock mounts. Because the F41 shocks were larger diameter they needed to space them inward a bit for clearance to the trailing arm.
