Here is an interesting pad stamping. The usage code suffix is 3P. It's not a stamping error. Does any one have information about Flint suffixes that use numbers as well as letters. I think there is also a 3Q code that I would like to know more about. This engine is a 1963 327/340 with Corvette valve covers even though is was not in a Corvette. Anyone care to guess what car it was used in as original equipment?

Re: Interesting 327 pad stamping
Since it did not go in a Chevrolet, I would not expect it to be in the Lime Book. If someone has Flint records, maybe it is mentioned. However, in later years (I have seen a 67 and a 69 of this make), the engines did use the regular Corvette suffixes.- Top

Re: Interesting 327 pad stamping
My cousin still owns his 1966 Avanti II he bought new. It has a 1966 350HP corvette engine and machine code stamping is a Flint stamping with the HT suffix. I do not remember what it shows for a VIN derivative.- Top
